My view is that the API should be as symmetric as possible and consistent
with the usual C read/write operations. So, I think rtf_put should return
the actual number of bytes written just as rtf_get returns the actual number
of bytes read. That way we can test for success or failure as required.
I agree that it will be an annoyance for people to change their code but
better now than later. If the bug/feature is also in NMT RT-Linux, it
should be changed there too.
I am posting this to the list so that a consensus might be reached. If
the general feeling is to let sleeping dogs lie, then I can live with that.
