java doesn't necessarily take up more space then qt based items
however, java is considerably slower.. a bit more portable and
what not but it could use a huge overhaul in the speed department
if you need something quick and simple you can always go for a
tcl/tk solution.. might not be the greatest but its quick, easy,
and portable! but if you are limiting yourself to qt or java I'd
go for qt myself.
