The SIMPL project (www.holoweb.net/~simpl) is dedicated to bringing a simple Send/Receive/Reply messaging scheme (first popularized by OS's such as QNX) to the Open Source Linux/RTLinux community. A new v1.3.2 has been posted to the SIMPL website. The significant new enhancement with v1.3.2 is the extension of the SIMPL paradigm to Tcl/Tk applets. Now SIMPL enabled Linux/RTLinux processes can transparently message to and from a remote GUI in the form of a Tcl/Tk applet. While this addition is at the early stages of maturity, it is quite stable and quite usable. This is completely an open source project. The source is free to be used as you see fit. We welcome any contributions or enhancements to this code base. PS. There is still lots of work to do on this project especially in the area of performance improvement and integration with RTLinux.
