I'm planning to buy a multi-processor computer system for real-time control
of a robot. What are the relative advantages and disadvantages between a
single motherboard with multiple CPUs (the classical SMP solution), or
several boards on the same bus, each with its own processor?
What do you advice if I want to use one CPU for non-real-time user
interaction and the others for real-time control?
