I will be in New York and Michael Barabanov will be in Paris at the
Debian booth.

As far as the API is concerned, I the discussion so far has been 
quite productive in my opinion, and perhaps we can announce that
we are converging on a consensus -- that is if the voices of Peter,
Nicholas, and Phil who seem reasonably close to each other are 
ok. 
There is some work to be done and I believe that any API needs proof
in terms of working code and happy users.
