We are having problems getting PS/2 mice (several different brands) to work with
various Single Board Computer (SBC) using RedHat 5.2 on some uniprocessor
systems and RedHat 6.0 or 6.1 on some SMP systems. During boot Linux reports
PS/2 mouse detected but they are non-responsive when Linux is up and Gnome is
unusable without a working mouse. Switching to serial mice works but we have had
problems under RedHat 5.x with GPM interfering with serial devices on the other
com port. One of our systems has a cluster of Trenton SBCs controlled by a Black
Box KVM switch (PS/2) so we need to fix the PS/2 mouse problem.
Any suggestions on config errors or any diagnostics to run?
