Sorry to dig in like this but I'd like to remind everyone that
there are many commercial sites hosting or owning open-source/free
software.
Try :
traceroute www.gnome.org
traceroute www.kde.org
traceroute www.kernel.org
All these are open-source sites that are either hosted or are
registered to commercial companies.
gnome.org belongs to Helix Code
kde.org belongs to the KDE project but is hosted by Troll Tech
kernel.org belongs to Transmeta
If Victor means to say that all these are biased projects, then
I think all the Linux community is in "deep shit", so to speak.
There's one more example I think is worth mentionning:
www.rtlinux.org and www.fsmlabs.com are two machines on the
same subnet:
www.rtlinux.org resolves to 209.155.42.124
www.fsmlabs.com resolves to 209.155.42.123
Moreover:
www.rtlinux.org BELONGS TO FSMLabs!!!!!!!!!!
If there is bias here, I think it is RTLinux as a whole that is
biased, not realtimelinux.org.
When Zentropix started realtimelinux.org I believe that the purpose
was precisely to undo the bias RTLinux had and they seem to be
quite succesfull.
My 2 cents ...
