you don't need to hope to run on a pc-104 system.... it is the
same as installing and running linux/rtl on any other pc computer.
there are a few little quarks at times but nothing major.... some,
or most, i/o cards don't have much support but drivers can be 
written...

we have rtl systems that are pc104 that we use in flight testing
rpv's and gaa aircraft. most of the card are from real time devices
usa. (www.rtdusa.com) their card are of good quality and all the times 
that i have called or emailed for info not in the manuals they have 
been very helpful. at this time they "don't support linux" but they've
given good help on their products.
