Hi,
I have Redhat 6.1 and I am in preparation to use RT-Linux 2.2.  I was looking at my system info from the Utilities -> System info... screen and I am curious as to what I found.  Maybe some experienced person out there can help me clarify things.

The machine was ordered with 6 processors, and Linux recognizes 6.  The problem is that it says each processor has 0 KB of cache, but the BIOS notices 2048 K Cache.  I don't understand.

Secondly, the BIOS list 4193280 K extended RAM, but the memory info in Linux lists a total memory of 971452 K and a shared memory of 48512 K.

I am new to multiprocessor systems.  But I know I want shared memory among the processors for the programs I will write.

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on?

Thanks,

Jeff
