Hello, i'm making a system for data aquisiton in real time, this is
gonna be trough serial ports, and i'm looking
for a multiport serial board, so i am looking for one that is
compatible with my system, i have linux Slackware
7.0, kermel 2.2.14 with rtlinux2.2 (soon rtlinux2.3final with kernel
2.2.18), anyway what i'm looking for is some advice
of what it will be the right choice for a multiport serial board, so i
appreciate very much if someone can give me
some advice over this matter. And another question....if my system
doesn't have to respond to actual signs
from the outside do you think that it is really necessary that i have to
use rtlinux, i mean the only thing that it
does is to receive data, and i don't think that i'm gonna use a baudrate
greater than 9400. At this time the system is working by recieveing only
two signals, one of this is time, and the other is signal from a
seismological station, but after i put the multiport board it's going to
have up to 12 station sending data to the computer (by the way the
computer i'm using is a Pentium II 400Mhz with 64 MB RAM) so what do
you think?
