Hello-
I am in the process of building our next generation remote sensing system.
We currently use an x86 based computer as the main processor. As far as
real time is concerned, is there a superior platform to the x86? I know
there are a lot of other concerns with this such as peripheral hardware but
as far as the core of rtlinux is concerned, is there a better platform that
provides a smaller resolution and more precise timing? I've heard from time
to time on the list references to alternative hardware bases (such as the
alpha) having better timer resolution, etc. I'm happy to hear everyone's
opinions on this topic.
