For 2.4.4 you need ext3-0.9.1 but ext3 was experimental for 2.4.4 and I don't know where the patches are available (search for ext3-2.4-0.9.1 or ext3-0.9.1 ) don't forget that you also need to update your ext2fsprogs aswell.
