Saurabh,

We use several different PC104 modules here at work all running RTLinux or
RTAI. We are having a civil war at my company right now between those who
like RTAI and those who like RTLinux. The RTLinux guys are winning, since
I'm on that team. Enough said. ;P

Anyway, we use mainly a 486 dx66 module with only 16 megs ram and also a
National Semi Geode based PC104 module with 32 megs of ram. RTLinux runs
great on both. The jitter is actually much better on the PC104 than the
Geode. I have a thread that runs at a period of 108 uS off a periodic timer
in the 486 that plays audio over a dac chip hooked to the ISA bus. Runs
great and the jitter is 22 uS worse case, which is way out of the audible
range. It plays pure tones. RTAI on the same hardware has a jitter that's
about 45 uS worse case, which is why I prefer RTLinux.

Good luck. Let me know if you need any help specifically with PC104 modules
as we have a lot of experience here getting the buggers to work.

Steve
