Actually I've made changes for this in my patch for 2.4.19-pre8 I've
released

I don't think it has something to do with compiler - something has
changed
somewhere between 2.4.7 - 2.4.12 that APIC vectorts are no anymore  <0.

My patch is modified for this though I've no idea if it's correct and
haven't had time to play a second  binary-division game to locate the
real cause of this change (one has been played to discover the usage of
-fno-common)
