I was doing my everyday work; astronomical image processing. Several image
display tools open, netscape, gimp, moving the mouse all the time, moving
files from this disk to the other, etc.
Basically I did not pay an extra attention to put load on my system, as
that is the default.
I am using
XFree86 Version 4.2.0 (Red Hat Linux release: 4.2.0-8) / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)

More later,
Gaspar
