rtnetproxy is a legacy service you may only want to use when RTnet is
intended to run without RTmac (i.e. software-based hard real-time media
access control). This might be the case when you combine a RTnet node
with closed hardware and software. But then you can easily break the the
real-time contraints of your system.

If you are using RTmac, and all of the node within your real-time
network are doing so as well, then you should definitely use the VNICs!
