Hi

well. I see in the second patch .. he made a rt_task_delete call before return. Yes, I thought maybe i have done something to the RTAI source code by accident that made the behaviour so i inter-changed the master with the client, somehow i do still get the same response..

I am currently using rtai-3.0r4 for kernel 2.4.25

Indeed, something mystic has happened to my RTAI. Maybe a bit later on when I am more free i will reinstall RTAI and see if the behaviour persists. Meanwhile, i will just work with the minor change i did which makes everything work..

Thanks for all yours and Marcs time
Bret

Hi

This is the kernel log of the second test patch

This is absolutely weird! I means that the return of tdma_task_notify, a real-time task function, does not cause the deletion of that task. This is not the normal RTAI behaviour! What version of RTAI are you using? Can you check if everything is fine with it (original source code etc.)? I may also try to debug the return of tdma_task_notify by adding rt_printk to the trampoline function of RTAI (rt_startup) and the rt_task_delete function.

For now, I don't see any bug in RTnet and thus no need for a patch. I rather think something very mystic happens with your RTAI...
