Hello,
the initial rtnet driver for the rt2500 wlan chipset has been
released and merged into the current svn trunk. Kernel version 2.6.13 or
higher is supported. Cards that use the chipset can be found at
http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/net/wireless/cards.html
Together with the driver comes the user-space tool rtiwconfig.
At the present state the driver can communicate in two different modes:
'raw' or 'ack'. 'ack' means that the nic does a transmission retry if
the packet is not acknowledged by the receiver. The max retry count has
been set to 4. Remember that this is an initial release and the software
is absolutely experimental.
