The trick is this combination:

./configure --with-linux=... --with-rtext-config=.../xeno-config

This enables the new-style in-kernel configuration of Xenomai 2.1 and
later while the above is like choosing CONFIG_RTNET_RTEXT_CLASSIC from
the interactive configuration.

Additionally, you may also want to play with
--with-module-dir=/lib/modules/... Otherwise, RTnet will put its modules
into separate, non-depmod'ed locations.

by fixing/extending the build system etc.!
