Hi everybody,

I use the e1000 drivers for rtnet regularly without any problems.
However, for a special project, we have a 4-port PCIe e1000 adapter (from
Supermicro) that consists internally
of a PLXTech PCIe - PCIe bridge and two dual-port e1000 chips.
PCI ids are 8086:105e.
This seems to be a 82571EB_COPPER, MAC: 82571

This very board does not response to ARP requests sent to the board from the
outside (e.g. from another PC).
Using a different e1000 NIC (e.g. PCI, PCIe) this works fine.
By looking at the driver source code I found out, that - for what ever reason -
some e1000 boards seems
to be able to filter out ARP requests. Could this be the reason for this
behaviour?

Sending out ARP requests to the communication partners works fine, i.e. ARP
responses are processed nicely.

Any ideas on this strange issue?

Thanks for all hints.

Regards

Mathias
