The service function is not provided by RTnet but by the RTDM provider
(RTAI in your case). RTnet just had to add the required hook service
when registering itself with the RTDM layer.

rtnet_socket.h is RTnet-internal. What are you missing precisely?

If you have a POSIX test case (or something that can easily by converted
into one), I could try to build the code against Xenomai.

OK, but that's for Xenomai. configure.ac will have to be adopted to
detect RTDM select support provided by RTAI.
