You could compare these resets with those triggered by the Linux driver
during startup. I don't know by heart how often this triggers, but I
know that the startup phase takes a while here as well.

Yes. Just think about the asynchronous timing, when the external event
arrives and when it can be delivered over the cyclic channel.
