1. New DataDirect ODBC Driver available for InterBase Customers
http://support.borland.com/entry.jspa?externalID=4966

As an option for data connectivity Borland distributes ODBC drivers from
EasySoft with previous and current versions of InterBase. The latest version
of InterBase only shipped with an evaluation version of the ODBC drivers,
while some previous versions of InterBase shipped with a redistributable
ODBC driver.

You may not redistribute the EasySoft ODBC driver after September 2006 as
the agreement between EasySoft and Borland will have expired.

To once again allow customers to freely redistribute an ODBC driver, Borland
has reached an agreement with DataDirect to distribute their ODBC driver.

Customers redistributing an EasySoft ODBC driver need to change to the
DataDirect ODBC driver. Technically this change should be an equivalent
replacement, since ODBC functions are identical according to the ODBC
specification. We understand the change might involve extra efforts for some
customers, but believe this is outweighed by the possibility to, free of
charge, redistribute ODBC drivers moving forward.

2. New BDP 2.5.0 Driver Available for InterBase Customers (using Visual
Studio.NET)

http://support.borland.com/entry.jspa?externalID=4971

InterBase 7.5 ships with a BDP driver to allow Visual Studio.NET developers
to develop InterBase aware .NET applications. This driver has now been
updated to bring it into line with the version that ships with BDS 2006.
There is no need for BDS developers to download this new release.

BDP 2.5 new features include support for connection pooling, tracing of SQL
statements, automatic conflict resolution, extended metadata retrieval,
customizable SQL type mapping for data migration, and schema create
enhancements to support quoting objects.
