Yes! This can be tricky. You have several options. You could download the netbeans with mysql installer. You could download mysql by itself. You could download Instant Rails and use the mysql in it.
Start by going to Services tab. Right click databases. You should see: "Register MySQL Server" Try that and see if you get that far. Let us know what happens. Good luck!
