We use Ruby on Rails, combined with various other technologies in cloud-based systems. You will join a fully distributed, agile team, based in the US, and including developers from around the world. Assembla applications tend to be significantly more complex and involve more components that a "normal" web application. Requirements: skills, experience, and availability Required skills include: Talented programmer. This is the important qualification. Ruby on Rails experience Have you ever designed and built your own piece of software by yourself? Good written English skills We have a few special needs, in the following order of priority 1) Linux system administration with experience handling scaling with Rails, database, and cloud-based systems 2) Javascript and Ajax. We want to do more with ajax, and we don’t have the skills we need. If you can make a fast and fun UI, you can help us. 3) Python. We need these skills to support Mercurial and Trac. 4) Flash. We are planning to do more with flash in Assembla and client products Compensation, terms, and duration of job This is a telecommuting job. You can be located anywhere in the world, and you must be equipped with your own computer and networking. Your hours will be flexible, and we can do a part time trial.
