Hello,

Just joined the dev list and thought I would introduce myself. I am a
developer of 25+ years--yes that's before the web, the Internet, Java,
Linux, Windows, DOS, the PC, ... were invented...lol. I've programmed
in just about all the main stream languages at one time or another. In
the past few years I have done mostly web-based application development
in Java and C#. I develop mostly on Linux but have Windows and Mac OS X
machines sitting beside my trusty Ubuntu box.

My currently languages of choice are Ruby and Java: Ruby because I love
it (it's made programming fun again) and Java because it pays the
bills. My favorite tool is Eclipse, hands down. I have written one
Eclipse plug-in that used the GEF for a Java/Prevayler code generator
that is written in Ruby. I used the RDT (version 0.50 at the time) to
build most of the Ruby code--I occasionally code with vi when I need to
make a quick fix or two. The RDT is a nice tool, thanks for the work!

I now find myself turning to Rails. I've read the book, worked through
the examples, built a couple trivial apps, but am in no way a Rails
expert...yet ;) I plan to continue using the RDT for this effort. I
thought I might use some spare time to contribute back to the project,
but more on that later. For now just wanted to say hello and thanks!

Kind regards,
Mike Sandman
