How are you running your test?  If your launch is a Test::Unit launch, then 
no.  There's no verbose flag available.  

If the launch is a "Ruby Application", of course you can add anything you want 
to the command line in the launch dialog.  Select Run/Run...

I'm curious as to what the verbose mode does/looks like.
