Hi, This is my first post to this list.
Is there a way to get the gem information from a configure script?
For example, when a gem wants to install extra document files to
$GEM_PATH/doc/$GEM_NAME, how does it know the exact path?
It would be nice if environment variables like GEM_NAME, GEM_DIR,
GEM_DOC_DIR, etc. are exported so extconf.rb/configure/Rakefile can
refer to them.
