Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 3 Submitted By: Rich Meyers (richmeyers) Assigned to: Nobody (None) Summary: Do not show useless and obnoxious output to normal people, instead fix the problem Initial Comment: As you might be aware (http://blog.zenspider.com/ #1), rubygems 1.8.2 prints a bunch of messages like this: Gem::Specification#default_executable= called from /opt/ruby-enterprise-1.8.7-2010.02/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/specifications/treetop-1.4.9.gemspec:11. If you are not aware of issues this behavior is causing, please see here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5949521/how-do-i-fix-rubygems-recent-deprecation-warning http://pupeno.com/blog/getting-rid-of-rubygems-deprecation-warnings/ It appears that the solution for this problem is to run a(nother) gem command. Gem should run this command automatically as part of the upgrade, or installation. As a user I should not be tasked to fix the breakage that rubygems are inflicting on ruby gems (or the other way around). This report is brought to you courtesy of http://blog.zenspider.com/ #2.
