Hi, A couple of months ago I created a patch to allow different action names for new/edit when defining resources.
It's very simple and I hope we can see it included in Rails. However I still need more support on http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/11181 to be able to request inclusion. Could you test it and add your support to the trac ticket page?
