I just upgraded an application to 2.3 RC2 and had several failing features stemming from ActiveSupport::Multibyte::Chars #eql? behaving differently in Ruby 1.8.x from 1.9.
There was an old ticket with a patch and then some suggestions for fixing it that had be come stale, so I created a new patch incorporating the suggestion. http://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994-ruby-on-rails/tickets/1496 I'd appreciate it if someone could check it out and apply it for 2.3.
