THE ROLE To provide technical and process leadership for a team of developers who will deliver the ongoing functionality to support the live formats and be developing new functionality to launch new formats. The approach is Agile and the turnaround of functionality is fast. We have built the product and in position to stage 1 and need to continue the development effort with an in house team. We are using Ruby in a rails framework with Merb and an HTML front end with Flash components. 2. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate for this position: • Multi skilled and able to take the holistic view across the team. A background spanning back end, front end and database design and build (Ruby, PHP, Java, MySQL, XHTML/CSS, Ajax) • Able to get involved in the day to day coding and to bring a leadership perspective • Experience in mobile based applications • Enjoys working with Agile processes and development methods • Excellent at managing a development process to deliver high quality code fast • Systems administration, deploying Merb on a variety of Linux environments • Experience of modern restful development • Experience GIT or Subversion 3.
