Hi everyone ! I just finished a Treeview component based on Prototype and Scriptaculous. It's a "Windows-like" treeview with multiple options (events managment, for example). It's a bit heavy (the file is about 100kb), but it's not compressed (lot of comments... in french, sorry)
The structure is defined in JSON or in UL / LI . And you can serialize the tree at any moment. The serialization returns a JSON string.
