Hi all,

I'm basically interested in hosting my own "Netvibes"-like site.
It's actually for a client, not myself. That aside, my first
inclination was to use RoR to manage the items/content and
incorporate Javascript widgets for display, but I'm having a time
wrapping my head around where to begin.

I was thinking basically that I'd create a table (and corresponding
model) for each service I intended to support. For instance a table
for GMAIL, RSS FEEDS, YAHOO MAIL, etc. Then, for each user that
desired one of those items, I'd save their info to the corresponding
table (if they so desired) and let them proceed.

The main issue at that point is designing and presenting
corresponding draggable-droppable (like JS-based) "widgets" on their
homepage for them to customize to their delight. Not only would I
need to display them, but likely I'd need to save window positions,
etc. . .

. . .that's about where my brain explodes. If anyone has any
suggestions and perhaps a few kick-start links they could suggest,
I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Mike
