String.replace: 0.042s @ 23810/s (n=1000)
String.split: 0.135s @ 7407/s (n=1000)
...
Tests duration: 0.558 seconds.
Total duration: 3.720 seconds.
Granted, this is not exactly your version (I use 20061024), but it's 4+
times faster, with performance comparable to your Opera's. Weird!
