>hopefully you'll be fine without any z-index tricks. I ended up using the z-index. It still makes the page go wonky in IE 6, but works perfectly now in IE 7 and Firefox. Haven't tested in Safari. Thanks for the input and I will try that method as well. Maybe that will fix the IE 6 blowout problem.
