Thanks for all the help! The best way seems to use (like Ken said) the Move function. Since otherwise I get the same problem as on slippymap.com..that the content doesn't move with the sliding..
The problem I'm now facing is that the map should stay still in the map_container.. but this seems to be more of a question for the googlemaps group :).
