We now found a (partial) solution. It seems, that the 'errneous transparent pixel' bug appears with true rgb-images (like png or jpg) only. Also its not a safe solution to replace the color #02050a, while at least with jpegs the color will be reintroduced again on saving.
Using palettized image formats (like gif) instead, renders the problem to disappear. So, this is not really a universal solution (as apps like foto galleries will maybe not rely on gif), but for certain purposes it seems to work.
