I have two sortable lists with elements that can be dragged and
dropped into each other. Everything works as it should in IE and
Firefox but Opera displays some very odd behavior. When an element is
dragged it is supposed to pop back into the space made for it when it
is released. However, in Opera the element will settle back into some
arbitrary space inside the container. Often this means that the
element will settle back behind some other element instead of the
space that was made for it.

The same thing happens when the element is dragged into another
container. Instead of settling down at the top of an empty container
the element will often settle in halfway down the container. Dragging
in more elements will just make the problem worse, causing elements to
be everywhere in the container, often overlapping each other.

Any ideas on what is going wrong and how to fix it?
