Thanks Gareth, I'll give that a go.

Actually, in this case the message box is a good thing. The user will
have full flexibility to add new items to the various groups by
dragging and dropping, it's only when they drag an existing item from
one group to another that it will query the user.

It's a permission thing basically, as they'll be initiating some
fundamental  database re-ordering, and having people be emailed, so
they'll need to be sure that is actually what they intended.

I'll report back on success / progress, but in the meantime thanks
again for the tip.
