There seems to be a confusion  the link passed on by you is regarding
capturing key events and behaving accordingly, the question i asked was that
when the js be being read in my case from portal server it throws an runtime
exception at

baseInitialize: function(element, update, options,hiddenfield) { ... } that
is at controls.js which may be caused to the mentioned failure with
spring-portlet-mvc integration failure with vigntte portal server or can be
something else.

basically iam not so very good at javascript which is the reason iam not
able to fiqure out the solution.
