You know, I have actually experienced this before but have never tracked 
it down.  It actually happens to me in Firefox as well.  It is just 2 
seconds at the most; usually 1/2 second.  Is this what you are seeing?

Anyone else experience this sort of "lag"?  I'll post back if I ever dig 
up the problem.
