You can use Firebug to check out what's going on with the DOM there. A little bit of research using it shows a surrounding div (fixed width and height, overflow: none, just below the Recently Purchased text), a div with a semitransparent gradient background PNG pushed to the bottom, three fixed-width ul columns moving upwards slowly and jerking back down when swapping images, and an additional link tag containing the larger thumbnail moving downward, with position absolute and a z-index of 100.
