Huh? If you're running Leopard, you should have ruby and rails
already! You may have a conflict:

rab:Users/rab $ which ruby
/usr/bin/ruby
rab:Users/rab $ ruby -v
ruby 1.8.6 (2008-03-03 patchlevel 114) [universal-darwin9.0]

rab:Users/rab $ which rails
/usr/bin/rails
rab:Users/rab $ rails -v
Rails 2.1.0
