The easiest way to solve this I believe is to add the following
information to your .htaccess file:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
rewritecond %{http_host} ^xyz.com [nc]
rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.xyz.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

Lemme know if this does the trick for you!
