SELECT `clients`.* FROM `clients` WHERE (name like '%%')
=> true.. :-(

Can you please tell me some more about.. as I am not really familiar with 
js/coffee

As I understand it in (data) should be the value of :query giving it to the 
action search

@clients = Client.where("name like ?", "%#{params[:query]}%")

But this is not happening

This is a little unclear to me.
