Just be aware then that following a tutorial that does not match the version of rails you are using can be difficult, as whenever something does not work you do not know whether you have done something wrong or it is just that the tutorial is wrong for your version. You might be better following an up to date tutorial such as railstutorial.org, which is free to use online (and installing the appropriate version of rails obviously).
