I would suggest Rails of course. I just purchased these books: http://www.amazon.com/Practical-Rails-Social-Networking-Experts/dp/1590598415/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229898825&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/RailsSpace-Building-Networking-Addison-Wesley-Professional/dp/0321480791/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229898905&sr=1-1 Both of them have you build a myspace clone. I know the first one i listed actually has a section on user driven themes using css. I am about to read those after I finish the one below, which has me building a digg clone. http://www.amazon.com/Simply-Rails-2-Patrick-Lenz/dp/0980455200/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229898966&sr=1-1 If you are new to Rails i would suggest this book before the others.
