You would be better to stick to Rails 3 (with a Rails 3 tutorial) until you have mastered the basics of Rails and know how to debug your code. If you really must go with Rails 4 then railstutorial.org have a beta tutorial at http://ruby.railstutorial.org/ruby-on-rails-tutorial-book?version=4.0#top Using a tutorial aimed at a different version of Rails to that which you are using is a doomed enterprise.
