We are new media company looking for a part-time (10-20 hours/week) Ruby on Rails engineering consultant who has demonstrated ability to write clean, well-tested code. The candidate should work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision, and operate well as a remote team-member. The product that the candidate will be working on is the core backend of the new media platform, comprising its analytics, user management and structured data store.
The work hours are flexible and work sprints are spaced every two weeks. The candidate will be working with an experienced team of RoR and PHP developers. Qualifications: 3 to 5 years experience with full-stack Ruby on Rails development Experience designing and implementing large, scalable web applications Experience integrating social APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc) Experience creating robust, RESTful APIs Comfortable using Git Past experience with either Postgres or MySQL Startup work experience a major plus!
